Vaal residents dissatisfied by Emfuleni road fixing initiative─── 08:45 Sat, 09 Oct 2021
Criticism against the Emfuleni Local Municipality by some Vaal residents is unfair and misguided.
This is according to municipal spokesperson Makhosonke Sangweni, after some unconvinced Vaal residents voiced their dissatisfaction, accusing the municipality of resealing streets and potholes as a desperate attempt to win the upcoming local government elections.
The criticism came after the municipality commenced its street fixing and refuse collection initiatives this month. The residents claim the newly resealed tar roads will soon be dotted with potholes, adding the municipality will not fix them as it has been the case in past years.
Responding to this claim, Sangweni tells OFM News that the Gauteng government, together with the local municipality, will continue its work that has nothing to do with the elections.
