NW Education MEC takes Vooma campaign to the people─── KEKELETSO MOSEBETSI 07:16 Sun, 10 Oct 2021
North West Education MEC Wendy Matsemela has taken the Vooma vaccination Campaign to the people of the Bojanala district in the hope of encouraging more people to get vaccinated.
OFM News reported that the North West Province was amongst the under-performing provinces, as people seemed reluctant to register and get their jabs.
North West Education spokesperson Elias Malindi says two weeks ago the Deputy President, David Mabuza, launched the Vooma Vaccination weekend in the Bojanala district. The turnout showed that much more citizens were reluctant to vaccinate than initially thought.
He says that on Thursday and Friday, Matsemela visited schools in the Bojanala district with the view of encouraging residents to vaccinate.
“The North West Department of Education MEC, Wendy Matsemela, as the champion of the Bojanala District development model, took the Vooma vaccination campaign to the heart of the district in ensuring that everyone receives the message of the vaccination. Currently the North West province is at the bottom three of the provinces, with the least fully vaccinated citizens,” he adds.
Malindi further says that Matsemela stated that vaccines are not experimental, as conspiracy theorists believe, seeing as they went through all processes and required stages of clinical trials and extensive testing to ensure efficiency.
