Northern Cape police spokesperson, Mashay Gamaldien, says four unknown men allegedly entered the store, presenting themselves as customers.

She says they allegedly demanded money and jewellery from the owners and shop assistants.

Gamaldien adds a struggle ensued inside the store and shots were fired - injuring one of the male suspects who collapsed outside the store. She says he was declared dead on the scene.

According to Gamaldien, police have implemented a 74-hour plan to mobilise all specialised police resources to apprehend and arrest the suspects.

She says that police have further called on someone who might have the information regarding the incident and whereabouts of the suspects to contact the investigating officer, Modise Moshotloa on 0823020407.
