Sol Plaatje MM pledges immediate impact on service delivery issues─── KEKELETSO MOSEBETSI 16:06 Mon, 11 Oct 2021
The Sol Plaatje Local Municipal Manager (MM) has promised to address issues of service delivery holistically in the Northern Cape.
This after OFM News earlier this year reported that millions were pumped into the troubled Sol Plaatje Municipality in aid of filling the incapacitating service delivery gaps. In a statement issued by the municipality, MM Goolam Arkharwaray reportedly focused on a variety of service delivery issues, resulting in more than 700 sewer blockages being resolved and all but one sewerage pump station being fully functional.

Arkharway also promised the residents of the Sol Plaatje Municipality that in the coming weeks all non-functional high mast lights will be fixed and street light bulbs will also be replaced in all wards. He further states that street lights that are not working due to cable theft, may take a bit longer to fix but it will be addressed in due course, as it forms part of the Safer City Campaign.
