NC man sentenced to life for murders of father, friend─── BLAINE JONES 13:17 Thu, 14 Oct 2021
A man was sentenced to life imprisonment on charges of murder. This follows 30-year-old Renaldo van Wyk’s sentence before the Groblershoop Regional Court for the murder of his father and his friend.
Northern Cape police spokesperson, Sergio Kock says the fatal incident took place back in February when Van Wyk stabbed the two victims.
“In Wegdraai, Groblershoop, Van Wyk and his father, David Malo (52), got involved in an altercation where the accused fatally stabbed Malo twice in his back. Renaldo in his rage also stabbed Johnny Ntlokwana (26) once in his chest and both victims died on the scene,” Kock says.
Police arrested Van Wyk hours later and he remained in custody up until his sentencing.
