Woman in court for allegedly hiring hitman to kill husband─── BLAINE JONES 09:24 Fri, 22 Oct 2021
A North West woman is due to appear before the Bafokeng Magistrate's Court in Tlhabane on Friday 22 October 2021 after her husband was murdered.
This follows her arrest after she allegedly hired a hitman, who brutally murdered her 51-year-old husband. The provincial spokesperson, Amanda Funani, says the victim was killed on Wednesday and a search has commenced for the apprehension of the hitman. The victim was killed at Luka village, near Phokeng outside Rustenburg.
According to reports, tenants in the couple’s backrooms, heard gunshots on Wednesday morning and went to investigate. Upon seeing the victim lying in a pool of blood, they called the wife, the police, and an ambulance. It is alleged that the victim, who is the suspect’s husband, was heading to work when he was killed. Preliminary investigations revealed that the victim sustained several gunshot wounds to his upper body. He was certified dead at the scene.
“Reports surfaced that the couple was heard arguing and police also established that the wife allegedly hired a hitman who fled the scene after the incident. Investigations into the matter continue and the motive is still unknown,” says Funani.
