MAP speaker visits ECDs─── 08:28 Sat, 23 Oct 2021
The speaker of the Maluti-A-Phofung Local Municipality in the Eastern Free State, Tumelo Thebe, together with the Department of Social Development and FNB, embarked on a three-day programme where they are visiting Early Childhood Development centres.
They will also be hosting luncheons, where they will donate food, seedlings, planting equipment, as well as showing how to tend to plants.
According to Thebe, this programme started in 2020, when these stakeholders contributed Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) to the same beneficiaries.
"Six ECDs benefited from this programme, which is aimed at providing proper nutrition to children and the elderly,” he said.
Thebe concluded by saying that the gardens can also be used for economic purposes, where the vegetables can be sold to local communities.
