FS Education comes to aid of schools in need─── BLAINE JONES 09:12 Sun, 24 Oct 2021
Grade 12 learners from the Vulamasango Secondary School in Bloemfontein will write their final examinations in a new, state of the art hall.
This forms part of the Free State Education Department's initiative to build 10 halls for Secondary schools in the province.
Departmental spokesperson, Howard Ndaba, says six halls have already been handed over, while construction of the last three will commence in January 2022.
Ndaba says the initiative aims to provide essential facilities and deal with infrastructure backlogs.
Free State MEC for Education, Tate Makgoe, handed over the new hall to the Vulamasango Secondary School yesterday.
"The Department is committed to providing infrastructure facilities in township schools, to create a conducive learning and teaching environment and to provide learner and teacher support programmes to improve schools’ performance," says Ndaba.
The 1100 capacity hall will be used for school activities, community events and development programmes.
