The towns are in the Matjhabeng, Nala and Maquassi Hills Local Municipalities. The civil rights organisation says Sedibeng Water has not responded to its request to get the water flowing again.

Meanwhile, the African National Congress in the North West has denounced the increasing water interruptions in the province.

The party says it accepts the challenges of bulk water supply. However, it says the recent developments are worrying.

ANC officials have requested an urgent meeting with Premier Bushy Maape and Deputy Water and Sanitation Minister David Mahlobo.

They want to find a solution to ensure that water provision is restored.
