Leaders of the Mangaung Service Delivery Forum (MSDF) continue to put pressure on the Free State government.

This after the chairperson of the MSDF, Potso Motoko, told OFM News they were not satisfied with some of the responses they got on Monday, following their meeting with Cooperative Governance and Traditional Affairs (Cogta) in the Free State. Motoko says the agenda included the alleged tender of guns and bulletproof vests for the Mangaung Metro Police. It was agreed that it should be cancelled. However, they were not satisfied with some of the issues that included housing and service delivery. OFM News previously reported that MSDF leaders have vowed to shut down the City of Roses before elections, if there are no positive outcomes from the ongoing negotiations with the Free State Government.

“We feel that the government is failing us, the municipality is still failing us and unfortunately we are planning something next. We might not have elections here in Mangaung,” said Motoko.

OFM News also reported that members of both the Mangaung Concerned Community (MCC) and the Mangaung Service Delivery Forum (MSDF) were present during Ramaphosa’s campaign tour in Bloemfontein. The latter marched to one of the community meeting points to express their grievances, whilst the former was present in Bochabela and revealed that they have penned an open letter to Ramaphosa on the mounting issues in Mangaung.
