Police spokesperson Motantsi Makhele said the police launched a manhunt for two suspects after a student from the University of the Free State (UFS) was allegedly kidnapped and robbed when she was walking to the campus late Wednesday afternoon. He said the 19-year-old victim said one of the suspects pointed a gun at her and instructed her to get into the vehicle. The driver then sped off and robbed her of her cellphone and bank card. They then dropped her at the university’s entrance and drove off.

Early indications are that the manhunt ended in Fauna, Bloemfontein, on Friday morning. One suspect was arrested with several suspected stolen items in his possession. This is a developing story.
