International Children's Day commemorated─── 09:00 Fri, 05 Nov 2021
HeadStartKids, a non-profit organisation specialising in early childhood education, celebrates International Children's Day with various other stakeholders to bring awareness to the impact that Covid-19 had on children in Bloemfontein.
Founder of this non-profit organisation, Lily Geertz, tells OFM News that the event will commence at 09:00 and is solely dedicated to children's well-being. The Free State Department of Social Development is being represented by the Deputy Director at Early Childhood Development, Matho Jafta Mohali.
Geertz says that the campaign will start at the Carel du Toit Special Needs School and will move to various venues throughout the day. Geertz says that they are grateful to VKB for the food donations to the children in need, and Volvo for providing transport for them to get around today.
She adds that they will also head to Heidedal, to a special needs school in that area of Bloemfontein. Furthermore, all stakeholders have gathered at the Carel du Toit Special Needs School for a celebratory concert by the children of the school.
This is a developing story.
