HeadStartKids and VKB donate to all ages─── 11:08 Fri, 05 Nov 2021

In celebration of International Children's Day, which is on 6 November, the non-profit organisation HeadStartKids has collaborated with VKB for the donation of bread and flour to special needs schools across Bloemfontein, in the Free State.
Founder of HeadStartKids, Lily Geerdts, tells OFM News that these donations will not only go to special needs schools but also to underprivileged old age homes located in various areas of Bloemfontein. Geerdts highlights the importance of these donations in a world ravaged by the Covid-19 pandemic, by saying that many children and elders suffered food shortages as a result of the pandemic.
She adds that two old age homes will be visited during the course of the day where donations will be handed over.
Additionally, Mpho Makhaza, quality assurance officer of VKB, says that these donations will not only be a once-off gesture but it will become a continuous initiative. Makhaza mentions that being involved with such an initiative is imperative to the Frankfort VKB branch, as they are able to serve the community by providing these goods to those in need.
