Residents of Zeerust in North West will in Sunday pay their final respects to Tshwanelo Seleke, who is alleged to have been killed by her partner.
According to reports, Seleke’s murder happened this past Monday, at Ikageleng extension 1.
Her partner, Ntesang Isaac Molefe (aged 24) has been remanded in police custody.
He will appear before the Zeerust Magistrate’s Court tomorrow for a formal bail application.
North West police spokesperson Afjee Botma says police found Seleke's body with multiple stab wounds.
Botma adds that according to reports, the pair was leaving a tavern when an argument ensued between them.
The ANC Women’s League (ANCWL) in the province has called on men to help in the fight against gender-based violence (GBV) as it affects all communities.
North West MEC for Community Safety, Sello Lehari, has also condemned the incident.
Lehari says GBV has no place in society and those who are guilty of it will be brought to book.
OFM News learned that Seleke's funeral will be held at the Ikageleng multiple purpose centre on Sunday.
