Since last week, residents have been disrupting work proceedings and aren't allowing municipal workers to conduct their duties in the area.

City of Matlosana spokesperson, Ntswaki Makhetha, told OFM News that operational work stopped last week due to conflict that erupted between members of the public and a particular service provider who is contracted by the municipality.

OFM News has learned that managers in the municipality are holding engagements with relevant stakeholders to resolve the matter.

Makhetha said the municipality is appealing to residents to allow work to continue. She said the municipality is working swiftly to address concerns regarding the matter.

Resident Tshepo Matlou says the municipality needs to speed up the process and ensure that services are back to normal, citing that the problem results in illegal dumping sites.
