MEC for Cooperative Governance (Cogta), Lenah Miga's house in the capital city of Mahikeng, was gutted by fire on Wednesday night.

As result, some family members who were inside the house during the incident are said to have suffered minor injuries whilst others were treated for smoke inhalation.

It's said that the MEC and member of the ANC's Interim Provincial Committee was not in the house during the incident at her private residence. Meanwhile, the ANC says it learnt with utter shock about this incident.

"Cadre Lenah is a Fundraiser of the Interim Provincial Committee and MEC for Cooperative Governance, Human Settlement and Traditional Affairs. Lenah Miga’s house was engulfed in flames last night [Wednesday] the cause of the fire is still a subject of a police investigation," Kenny Morolong adds.
