EFF promises not to interfere in Orania─── 15:18 Fri, 10 Dec 2021
The Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF) in the Northern Cape has committed itself to not encourage land grabs or interfere with any activities in Orania.
This follows after the party obtained the mayoral position through a coalition in the Thembelihle Municipality, which include Hopetown, Strydenburg and Orania.
The EFF is the official opposition, with three seats, while the ANC has five.
Aubrey Baartman, the provincial chairman of the party, says they plan to meet with the leadership of Orania and introduce the new mayor to the community.
He says cooperation with the community is crucial for the party, and all council decisions will be communicated with the community.
