The Free State can expect a 60% chance of showers and thundershowers from Thursday, after an already wet few days.

Celeste Fourie, Forecaster at the South African Weather service says they are expecting thundershowers to develop in the early afternoon hours similar as Wednesday. Fourie says looking into Friday, similar conditions can be expected with thunder showers expected to take place within the morning hours.

She says Saturday isolated showers and thundershowers are expected over the Bloemfontein region. Towards Saturday afternoon the Northern Cape can expect showers and thundershowers that will later the afternoon spread into the Free State and North West.

Fourie says on Sunday, most of the expected afternoon thunder storms are going to be over the Free State side spilling into the Northern Cape towards the evening.

“Going into next week, it seems like there is a slight calming down in the weather where it’s only going to be very isolated showers and Thunder showers in the North West province. Then just a general, calming weather with Bloemfontein not expected to receive anything majorly for Tuesday. Most of the thunderstorms are expected in the North Eastern parts of the Northern Cape and western parts of the North West province next week.
