FS Hospital flooded with assault victims─── 07:22 Tue, 21 Dec 2021
More than eighty people were admitted to the Mofumahadi Manapo Mopedi regional hospital in Qwaqwa, Free State, over the past weekend due to assault.
The hospital's management is worried as the number was far higher than the capacity.
The stampede caused delayed response to some of patients.
According to the hospital’s interim Chief Executive Officer (CEO), Fanyana Moloi, the number of people who have been involved in car crashes were less compared to those admitted due to assault.
He says most of the patients were under the influence of alcohol.
He requested that residents be cautious during the festive season.
Moloi further appealed to people to be more observant and follow Covid-19 regulations.
