This follows after the Northern Cape Department of Education announced the marking of the 2021 National Senior Certificate (NSC) Examination concluded on Monday in the province.

Spokesperson for the Department, Geoffrey van Der Merwe, says the Department made use of 4 Marking Centres to accommodate 1 289 marking personnel.

The Department recorded zero COVID-19 cases across all of its Marking Centres, as well as no incidents that could potentially delay the completion of marking.

Van der Merwe says the capturing of marks is well on track and will be concluded by Friday, 24 December 2021.

"We are pleased with the manner in which our Examination Marking Centres were functioning, especially during this time when our country entered the fourth wave of the COVID-19 pandemic," says van der Merwe.
