Six suspects heading to court over abalone worth millions─── BLAINE JONES 13:09 Wed, 22 Dec 2021

The case against six suspects who were arrested in Bloemfontein yesterday for dealing in abalone is set to proceed tomorrow.
Hawks spokesperson, Christopher Singo, tells OFM News the six suspects are due to make their first appearance in the Bloemfontein Magistrates court.
Singo adds they are currently in custody.
OFM News’ Blaine Jones previously reported six suspects between the ages of 20 and 40 were arrested yesterday morning, after the Hawks and police busted an illegal abalone facility in Bayswater.
The suspects’ arrests came after information was received about a house in Bayswater where they were processing abalone.
The Hawks conducted a search and seizure operation where they uncovered dry and wet abalone with an estimated street value of more than R7 million.
