In a short message, power utility Eskom says power outages affecting most areas in the Vaal Triangle, are as a result of recent heavy rains experienced in the area.

Meanwhile power outages have also contributed in water cuts, as reservoirs are unable to pump water.

Power was restored in some parts this morning, whilst technicians are still working towards restoring full capacity.

Eskom has asked that consumers should be patient.
