Floods claim more lives in FS─── 11:26 Thu, 30 Dec 2021
More families have been left bereaved, after recent floods claimed their loved ones in the Free State.
A woman and a child drowned in Senekal last week, the day before Christmas.
It is alleged the woman took her child and threw herself into the Tikwe River that passes between Senekal and Paul Roux.
The body of the woman has been discovered, whilst the child is still missing.
In another incident, four people drowned while passing across the river in Rosendal last week.
Thus far, only three bodies have been found, and police divers are still busy searching for the fourth victim.
Meanwhile, the South African Weather Service has advised people to be more vigilant, as more rain is still anticipated in the province.
