Conservationist Dirk Engelbrecht from the South African Wildlife Rehabilitation Centre was found safe this morning.
This follows after he went missing yesterday along the Vaal River in the area of Deneysville, in the Free State.
According to a Community Crime Forum Group for residents in Risiville, Engelbrecht managed to grab onto a tree and hang on until he was rescued.
The National Sea Rescue Institute (NSRI), as well as paramedics from ER24 and Netcare911 were deployed to the Vaal River yesterday, after they received information that a man had gone missing after his kayak had overturned.
