Houses and plots are under water, as the Vaal Dam filled up to over 110.4% full capacity.
Following this, the Department of Water and Sanitation has since opened a fifth sluice gate, to allow for water to flow.
Two weeks ago, the department warned and advised farmers and residents living downstream of the dam, to remove their equipment, as heavy rainfall was continuing.
No death has been reported.
