FS Education MEC to visit school affected by hailstorm─── BLAINE JONES 13:02 Wed, 12 Jan 2022
After a hail storm damaged the Albert Moroka High School, which was used as a marking centre in Thaba Nchu last year, the school seeks to rebuild and move forward.
The MEC of Education in the Free State province, Tate Makgoe, will visit the school on Wednesday to assess the damage, as well as brief the media and public on measures his department will implement towards the rebuilding of the school.
A huge concern after this incident was matric exam papers that might have been damaged. OFM News has since contacted the department's provincial spokesperson, Howard Ndaba, who ensured that Makgoe will address every matter during his visit.
The department said the roof of the Albert Moroka High School was blown off while marking was underway. The papers being marked at the time were Accounting Paper 2 and Business Studies Paper 2. One marker was injured while others escaped unharmed.
