The Commander in Chief and President of the Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF), Julius Malema, is visiting Mangaung on Thursday, inspecting sites that have suffered severe sewage spillages.

The residents in ward 1, in the Batho Location in Bloemfontein, have been walking Malema around in their living areas where they have issues with sewage spillages. Malema explained to a resident that it seems as if the reigning party in the metro is failing to find a solution to the sewerage problems.

After Malema visited the Batho Location, he moved to Heidedal. He is expected to go to Mallykaap next, and to finish off at Turflaagte.

The IOL reported earlier this week that the 'City of Roses' should now rather be regarded as the 'City of Sewage'.

Service delivery in Mangaung is allegedly at an all-time low. In many areas sewage is running down the streets and dangerous potholes are the order of the day.

“The City of Roses is now the City of Sewage,” said an ANC insider, who declined to be named.
