FS Police intensify Safer Festive Season Operations─── BLAINE JONES 10:27 Sun, 16 Jan 2022
The Police in the Free State is keeping its promise to extend its visibility during Safer Festive Season Operations, by intensifying crime prevention activities.
During an operation police spotted an abandoned vehicle in Botshabelo. It was later determined the Silver Toyota RAV4 had been stolen.
The vehicle was seized and impounded in Bloemfontein.
Police spokesperson, Thabo Covane, says the operation continued and information of possible possession of unlicensed firearm led the team to Potsane Trust, Thaba Nchu.
On arrival police searched two men and found a pistol with a filed-off serial number, one magazine, and forty-seven live rounds.
The two suspects were arrested and are due to appear in court soon.
The Safer Festive Season Operations come to an end on January 31.
