NW ANC members head to Luthuli House | News Article

A group of disgruntled ANC members in the North West are escalating their battle, as they head to Luthuli House to submit a memorandum of grievances.

OFM News reported in December that the group marched to provincial offices in the North West, demanding the Interim Provincial Committee (IPC) to go.

Convener Lopang Rothman tells OFM News that the last time they were at Mpekwa house in Mahikeng, the ANC National Executive Committee's Obed Bapela failed to receive the memorandum.

Each region is expected to send one car, and Rothman says they will not rest until their demands are heard and will even go to court if needs be.

The disgruntled members want former MEC Wendy Nelson reinstated in all her positions, and disciplinary processes to unfold against IPC coordinator Hlomani Chauke.

Rothman says they will give the NEC three days only to provide amicable solutions. "We are ready to go to court and interdict if they fail to help us, and we will use the report by Kgalema Motlanthe which found the IPC to have been involved in rigging the process of councillors' nominations."

The group is adamant that they will not allow the ANC provincial conference to take place with the current provincial and regional committees.
