Newly published local author, Godfrey Kukuni from Selosesha in Thaba Nchu, says education will lift you out of poverty.

His book is a memoir about his dream to achieve the impossible.

Kukuni became the first graduate in his family, and he was the first PhD holder in his community at the age of 30.

His book is titled “30 years journey towards my ambitious dream.”

“My book is based on my life as a student from Matric until I obtained a PhD in 2021. The aim of this book is to inspire and motivate the youth.”

“Last year we did not have the opportunity to have a graduation ceremony as a result of Covid-19. We then decided to have what we call a graduation drive. So we drove around our community dressed in our gowns. The reception we received was amazing and everyone was happy for us and myself. This gave me an idea to show and inspire the youth that despite their disadvantaged backgrounds, the sky is the limit,” Kukuni says.
