Police spokesperson, Gertrude Makhale, says unlike previously reported on some Facebook pages, it is not true that cocaine was recovered at one of the two schools.

OFM News reported last week that Gauteng MEC for Community Safety, Faith Mazibuko, was observing learning and teaching at various schools in the Vaal Triangle, where weapons and drugs (including dagga and crystal meth) were recovered.

Mazibuko said the school governing body must be actively involved to ensure safety at schools, while parents must provide support to the learners.

Makhale concluded that no arrests have been made following Wednesday's search.
