Sotyu is expected to visit the municipality on Tuesday to give a report on the waste management intervention at Matjhabeng.

Her intervention emanates from the meeting that she had with the communities and stakeholders of Matjhabeng in 2020, wherein concerns were raised about waste management issues, especially illegal dumping and the non-compliance of the landfill sites.

It is for this reason that the deputy minister will host a stakeholder engagement session to report back on the progress made with the waste management intervention projects, namely the Odendaalsrus Landfill Site, the buyback centre, street cleaning, and waste compactor truck.

More details will follow.
