This, after they allegedly transported and distributed drugs.

According to Gauteng MEC for Community Safety, Faith Mazibuko, the Vereeniging taxi rank was raided Friday in search of drugs.

Taxi operators told Mazibuko drugs were distributed by police officers with state vehicles.

Three police officers were searched and crystal meth as well as various number plates were found inside their three vehicles.

Thanks to a tip-off from the public, two more officers were later arrested at a scrap yard after being found in possession of heroin.

The MEC confirmed the arrests but did not name the street value of the drugs found as it forms part of the investigations.
