Learner still on the run after stabbing fellow learner─── 11:00 Sun, 20 Feb 2022
Police in Thabong in the Lejweleputswa district in the Free State, is still looking for a Grade 10 learner from Lephola Secondary School who allegedly stabbed a fellow learner during a Valentine's Day Ball at the school.
Police spokesperson, Stephan Thakeng, confirmed to OFM News that a criminal case had been opened at the Thabong police station by the victim's mother.
The victim, who is in Grade 8, was allegedly stabbed by the Grade 10 learner on Thursday and was taken to Bongani Hospital.
It is said that the suspect ran away after he stabbed the victim and did not show up for school on Friday.
The investigation continues.
OFM News has sent an inquiry to the Department of Education and is awaiting feedback.
