FS ANC dismiss social media rumours about Mbeki─── KEKELETSO MOSEBETSI 13:00 Sun, 20 Feb 2022

The Free State ANC Interim Provincial Committee (IPC) has dismissed social media posts doing rounds that the IPC has taken former president, Thabo Mbeki, into safety.
This comes after social media posts claimed that Mbeki cancelled some of his visits in Mangaung yesterday, due to threats that some of the ANC's members in the province are planning to embarrass him.
The IPC's spokesperson, Oupa Khoabane, dismissed all the claims and told OFM News that there was never a plan to visit any place in Mangaung.

OFM News previously reported that Mbeki is set to pay a visit to Bloemfontein from Thursday until Saturday. Mbeki's visit was set to address the party on unity and renewal of the organisation.
Khoabane had told OFM News that Mbeki would be interacting with different sectors of society during his three-day visit. He also explained that the decision was premised on the long history of disbandment and dissolutions of the provincial committee as a result of malfeasance in electing the structure.
Mbeki was expected to interact with different sectors of society in his three-day visit.
His address on unity comes on the heels of the ANC’s Interim Regional Committee (IRC) taking a decision to suspend the Mangaung Metro Municipality’s speaker, Stefani Lockman, following allegations about her defying the order of the party not to allow a sitting, which saw the former Acting City Manager Sello More’s removal from office.
