Last week, residents were forced to walk at least 3km to fetch water in town, which also took a toll on them as they had to queue in long lines at the local police station to get water.

Thabang Mooketsi said the situation is bad and questionable as there are at least three reservoirs in the area.

In 2019, during a community protest, water shortage was one of the key grievances that residents listed, however, water shortages continue in the area.

OFM News previously reported that a water project of at least R3 million was built to bring an end to the problem.

Selina Khoza says it's time that a permanent solution is provided, and that it is frustrating to see people up and down the road in search of water on a daily basis.

Ward 13 Cllr Thomas Sehemo has pleaded for patience and says the matter will receive attention.
