Free State Finance MEC Gadija Brown has sent heartfelt condolences to the family members of a women who was reportedly killed by her husband in Bloemfontein.
She was tabling her 2022/23 Provincial Budget in Gariep Dam in Kopanong Local Municipality.

OFM News recently reported that the suspect had allegedly set his wife alight in her car.
She died after being admitted to hospital.
Brown condemned ongoing gender based violence (GBV) in the province, citing that more should be done to end this scourge against women and children by dealing with the perpetrators.

Meanwhile OFM News also reported that the colleague of the deceased picketed outside the Bloemfontein Magistrate's Court, demanding that bail be denied to alleged perpetrator.
Free State police spokesperson Thabo Covane told OFM News the case was postponed to 14 March 2022 for a formal bail application.
Meanwhile the suspect will remain in police custody.
