The North West police are yet to recapture four prisoners who have escaped and are considered as dangerous.
This is despite intensified efforts after these suspects escaped from the Rooigrond Correctional Facility Centre on Tuesday. Police spokesperson, Sabata Mokgwabone, confirms that no arrests have been made but that investigations still continue. The four inmates were serving jail time for housebreaking, rape, robbery and murder, among other charges. In 2018, another group of inmates also escaped from the same facility.

According to Mokgwabone, those who escaped include Zacharia Francisco Nyalimate (Mozambican), who was convicted of housebreaking and murder. He was serving 27 years. Alfred Gwambe (Mozambican) was convicted of housebreaking, theft, and the possession of a stolen vehicle. He was serving 65 years. Siyabonga Sithole (South African) was convicted of rape, theft and housebreaking and was serving a life sentence. Edward Madiba (South African) was convicted of robbery, possession of a firearm and was serving 15 years. Their photos are attached.
"The Department is appealing to the public to assist with any information that may lead to the recapturing of these four. They are considered dangerous and if spotted, information should be shared with the nearest police station," Mokgwabone added.
