#BloemWater confirms employee's death─── TSHEHLA KOTELI 07:24 Tue, 22 Mar 2022

The bulk water supplier – Bloem Water - has confirmed the death of one of its employees.
The Mangaung Metro Municipality-based Bloem Water spokesperson, Kido Thoabala, says in a statement the employee passed away during the failure of a water pipeline at the Welbedacht Dam in the Free State, where a pipe burst this weekend. How the burst pipe and the death of the Bloem Water employee are linked is not yet clear at this stage.

This is the same pipeline that earlier left Mangaung residents without water for days, and shortly after it was repaired, the pipe burst again - causing some of the residents in the city to start National Water Week without water.

Thoabala assures the public that repairs are underway and communication will be sent regarding the planned timeline of the repairs. He says water tankers will be deployed to key areas that are affected until the situation improves.
