Free State health worker gains national recognition | News Article
More than 1.4 million people have been fully vaccinated in the Free State.

The Free State's Health MEC, Montseng Tsiu, was left delighted after one of her team members received recognition at the National Batho Pele Excellence Awards.

Doctor Nicholas Pearce was awarded Best Doctor of the Year at the awards ceremony which took place last week.

According to the spokesperson of the Department of Health in the Free State, Mondli Mvambi, the awards were hosted by the Minister of Public Service and Administration, Ayanda Dlodlo, at the Birchwood Hotel in Ekurhuleni.

Mvambi says the award follows the acknowledgement of "outstanding efforts in protecting South Africans in the province against Covid-19" by President Cyril Ramaphosa on two occasions.

Mvambi concludes that the province has already administered more than 1.9 million Covid-19 jabs while more than 1.4 million people have been fully vaccinated.
