Former NPA head's trial postponed in North West─── KEKELETSO MOSEBETSI 09:29 Thu, 07 Apr 2022
A shoplifting trial against the former National Prosecuting Authority's (NPA) regional head of the Special Commercial Crime Unit and Deputy Director of Senior Prosecutors in North West has been postponed to 13 June 2022.
This after legal representatives of Jeanette Nevelling requested postponement on Wednesday owing to her legal representative's alleged ill-health.
OFM News previously reported that Nevelling is facing shoplifting charges after she was allegedly caught red-handed with stolen grocery and clothing items at a Woolworths store in Mahikeng.

NPA spokesperson in North West, Henry Mamothame, told OFM News that the items stolen amounted to R3 000, and her R500 bail was extended until her next court appearance.
"The Molopo Magistrate's Court granted the postponement on the theft case against advocate Jeanette Nevelling, owing to the ill-health cited by her legal representative. They have also requested this postponement to source some cellphone records which they intend using in their events.
"The state is ready to proceed with the trial and has always been ready. We hope in the next trial all these matters would have been resolved for the trial to resume," he adds.
Mamothame says that Advocate Mashudu Mudau, from NPA Limpopo division, will represent the state to ensure that there is no conflict of interest. The accused has since resigned and is no longer an NPA employee.
