According to a statement issued by the provincial Finance Department, the interns – who hail from different districts in the province - were selected through strict recruitment processes.

The Treasury Department, by virtue of its finance mandate which embraces many technical functions, has a dire need for priority and scarce skills.

The statement goes on to say that the interns will therefore be placed in various units of the Provincial Treasury, where there is more need for priority and these scarce skills.

These units include fiscal policy, economic analysis, supply chain management, internal audit, accounting services and financial management. This on-the-job experiential training will be for the duration of the year.
