According to the family, Chabedi’s mother was already mourning her grandfather’s death when her son passed on. The family explains that the mother’s family was already preparing for the grandfather’s funeral when the son unexpectedly passed on.

The aunt of the deceased’s mother, Selloane Maane, explains to OFM News that the mother seems to be under emotional strain. She further explains that she could not attend this past weekend's funeral as she had to start making arrangements for her son’s funeral.

Maane explains that they hope to lay her son to rest this weekend. The family that was at this past weekend’s funeral will be making their way to the late primary school learner’s home to prepare for the family's second funeral within a week. 

She further extended her gratitude to the community for being very supportive during their time of grief.
