Man stabbed to death for a loaf of bread─── 14:42 Mon, 09 May 2022
Two men have been handed a hefty sentence in April 2022 for robbery with aggravating circumstances, and murder.
This comes after the alleged perpetrators robbed the victim of R15 and a loaf of bread where he was stabbed in the neck and succumbed to his injuries.
According to Sergeant Omphile Masegela, a case of robbery and murder was registered by the police in Rosedale on 15 August 2021 following the discovery of the body of a male person who was found near Jurgenskamp in Rosedale.
“The investigation led to the arrest of the two suspects - Rumaco De Koker and Mpambaniso Sibabalo - two days later and they were charged with robbery and murder. They were both sentenced to 10 years in prison for robbery and De Koker was further sentenced to 22-years for murder, which will be served concurrently,” said Sergeant Omphile Masegela.
The Rosedale SAPS welcomed the sentencing, and management praised the investigating officer, Sergeant Joey Visage, for a job well done.
