Sol Plaatje residents warned of water interruptions─── KEKELETSO MOSEBETSI 06:21 Thu, 12 May 2022
The Sol Plaatje Local Municipality in the Northern Cape is appealing to residents to ensure that they store enough water for the next coming days.
This, as the municipality confirmed that water interruptions for the whole Kimberly have been scheduled from today until Sunday May 15, 2022.
According to a statement issued by the municipality, these water interruptions are the result of water leak repairs that have to be done on the 965mm pipeline near Gogga, behind 3SAI Military base, and the 600mm pipeline near Roodepan.
The municipality further states that roaming water tankers will drive through all wards to ensure that residents are serviced.
Residents have been urged to have buckets and containers ready for when water tankers drive through.
JOJO tanks will be placed at police stations and municipal service centres such as Newton Reservoir, the Sol Plaatje Civic Centre, and Fire Station.
