The political landscape in the province has been muddied by political infighting since 2018. Former premier and ANC chairperson, Supra Mahumapelo, was forced to resign following violent protest in cities like Mahikeng amongst others.

According to the IPC ANC coordinator, Hlomani Chauke, the interim structure is aiming to establish branches, whose delegates would be sent to the provincial conference.

He says they have set themselves the target of establishing 70% of all branches and so far they are hovering around 60% of their goal.

Chauke says they are starting from scratch to build branches because they were dissolved following squabble and infighting.

OFM News previously reported that staunch supporters and allies of former ANC provincial executive committee (PEC) chairperson Supra Mahumapelo, are calling for his return.

Speaking to OFM news, former ANC secretary in Dr Kenneth Kaunda District, Lopang Rothman - who is with the "One Supra One North West" campaign - said their campaign will not have a list of officials, and that only Mahumapelo will be the face of their bigger picture.
