The road project, which was started towards the end of the previous mayor's term, was completed just recently.

According to municipal spokesperson Tshidiso Maitse the road will assist in keeping motorists and their vehicles safe.

He further pointed out that part-time jobs were created during the project, adding that the local economy will benefit as well.

The road, which cost the municipality R12.5 million, was officially opened to Clarens residents by Executive Mayor Tseki Tseki yesterday.
