#DrBlokFire: Hostel engulfed in flames - again─── HEIDRÈ MALGAS 05:48 Mon, 06 Jun 2022
A fire broke out at Bloemfontein's Dr Blok Secondary School’s hostel, mirroring an incident from three years ago.
The Manguang Fire Department was deployed to the school just after 17:00 on Sunday.
According to Braam van Zyl, from the Manguang fire department, it seems all the learners are safe, however, a number of learners and bystanders on the scene have been treated for smoke inhalation and shock.
“The fire has been extinguished and the hostel has been thoroughly searched,” he said.
He further added that it seems a few learners have been transported to hospital for further treatment

Meanwhile, the school has been engulfed in flames 3 years ago. OFM previously reported that 135 learners were rescued from the hostel after the hostel building caught fire in 2019.
