The R60 million clinic in Sebokeng Zone 17 in the Vaal Triangle, which was earmarked to open in 2019, remains uncompleted and closed.

The Democratic Alliance in the Vaal claims the delays in opening the clinic is hindering the delivery of health services.

DA's Emfuleni Central Constituency Political Head, Daddy Mollo, emphasised the clinic that is currently being used, is too small and cannot adequately help patients.

Previously the Gauteng Health Department promised the clinic will be opened on 31 March 2022, which never happened.

Responding to OFM News' questions, Gauteng Department of Health Liaison Officer, Philani Mhlungu, says the unfinished structure has still not been handed to the department of Health.

He says the unfinished clinic remains the responsibility of the Gauteng Department of Infrastructure Development, and will be handed over once completed.
