This, after it was identified as one of the worst performing municipalities nationwide. Auditor-General Tsakani Maluleke reportedly confirmed that the municipality could not provide evidence of most financial transactions for the past financial year.

MAP16 spokesperson, Paratlane Motloung, tells OFM News that he heard about the investigations by the FIC, but does not know what action will be taken.

“So far nobody has spoken to us about anything of that sort. We will still expect some formal communication. These reports are related to the era before the new administration came into government. This municipality had not complied with submitting the Annual Financial Statements of about three years.”
